There are seventeen farms on the Estate, some of which are let out to tenants and others are managed by the Estate. The land varies from light loam on the south, to London clay in the north. As a result, the south of the Estate lends itself to arable farming whilst the northern portion of the Estate supports dairy and livestock enterprises. With such a diversity of soil types the farming practices vary hugely, this means that a large variety of produce is produced. The estate farms including dairy, beef, poultry (incl turkeys), brewery, sheep and pigs sell their produce both locally and nationally.
